- The Word
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, divinely
preserved Word of God and the supreme and final authority for
all faith and life. Therefore it is the focal point of our work.
- Children
We believe that it is a necessity and privilege to plant the precious
seed of the Word in children’s hearts through memorization.
As it takes root and grows, it empowers our young ones to bear
fruit for the Kingdom of God. We delight to see our children mature
in wisdom and knowledge of the scriptures.
- Music
We desire to communicate the Word with music that is artfully
written, performed with excellence, and age-appropriate. We strive
to create music that:
- expresses the meaning of the Word
- enables people of all ages to memorize scripture quickly
and permanently
- provides an aesthetically pleasing and enriching experience
for kids
- appeals to adults (we don’t want mom and dad groaning
every time Suzie asks for that song again!)
- cultivates an appreciation for excellent music of diverse
styles
- encourages and edifies the listener in the faith
The use of music to facilitate language development and memory is widely
known, researched, and practiced. Melody is a tool which helps plant
words in the brain and enables effortless recall, even years later.
Stroke victims who have difficulty speaking can sing the words to
entire songs! Even three year olds can learn and remember complete
psalms.
However, music is much more than a tool for memorization: it is
a glorious creative art, a reflection of God’s image in us.
Therefore, we strive to create recordings of the highest musical
quality. Our accomplished performers share our vision and are adept
at performing many styles including classical, regional folk music
such as Klezmer and Latin-American, and jazz. They are graduates
of the renowned Eastman School of Music and members of the Rochester
Philharmonic Orchestra, for example. Our children continue to rise
to the occasion and have achieved the unique vocal blend which is
a hallmark of our sound.
Our music will enrich and delight all ages, even though our focus
is children. We enjoy and use sounds from a variety of cultures
and musical eras: a Baroque string orchestra, a rhythmically intense
Salsa band, an Irish jig, an Israeli hora. Children love to experience
this wonderful spectrum of music which reflects the richness of
God’s creation. As the Word tells us, He has called “every
tribe and every tongue” to praise Him!
