We are the Harrow family,
founders of His Own Hand Music.
Our mission is Sing The Word®
- the Scripture memory series for children (and adults too!)
Steve Harrow
Composer/arranger, trumpet/flugelhorn, synthesizer, recording
engineer, father
Steve earned his Masters of Music degree from the Eastman School
of Music where he majored in jazz studies/trumpet performance. After
teaching college music, he toured with the Woody Herman and Buddy
Rich Big Bands as solo trumpet. Steve then free-lanced in New York
City and attended the Brooklyn Tabernacle, where he played trumpet
with the renowned Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Subsequently, he was
the Director of Arts and Worship at Bethel Christian Fellowship in
Rochester, NY for 7 years. Currently, Steve dedicates his musical life
to developing the Sing The Word® series.
Anne Harrow
Flute, piccolo, alto flute, recorder, mother
Anne earned her Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees in flute
performance from the Eastman School of Music, where she is now Assistant
Professor of Flute. She is solo flute with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta,
a professional chamber orchestra in the Adirondack mountains of
New York State. She performs with the Eastman Virtuosi and the Rochester
Chamber Orchestra. Formerly, she was principal flute of the Florida
West Coast Symphony and has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic,
the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Savannah Symphony, the Florida Wind
Quintet, and the Spoleto Festival. Anne has taken her talents to
France, Italy and Germany as a performer and recording artist. Her
most significant (and challenging) accomplishment is home-schooling
her four children.
The Harrow kids along with their cousin are all budding
musicians who sing (or yell) on our recordings.
